New Delhi: The Union Government has decided to restore the promotion of 90 section officers of the Central Secretariat belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who had been reverted from the post of Under Secretaries in January this year. This follows a directive by the Supreme Court on Aug. 18 permitting the Government to pass appropriate orders. The Department of Personnel and Training will issue orders to this effect shortly. The officers had been reverted on Jan.30 (Hindu Aug.21).
