D V Readers Forum Launched

A happy news for DV readers. India’s first DV Readers Forum was started here at a simple function on Nov. 21. As TN became the first in starting a Tamil edition of the DV, our State also got yet another credit for launching the first association of the DV readers. And we call upon our comrades in the rest of India & outside to emulate this example and immediately launch similar Forums in your respective towns & cities. The inaugural meeting was attended by about 50 DV readers and other representatives of dalits, OBCs and persecuted minorities & presided over by Feroze, professor of psychology at a local college. Those present included Vasantham Ramachandran, dt. president of the militant Dravida Kazagham, Ramakrishnan, State secretary of the DK youth wing, Dr. Manokaran, a dalit medical college student, Abdul Jabbar, a leading advocate, leftists, rationalists etc. V. T. Rajshekar, editor of DV, was also present. Miss Thenmozhi was nominated president of the Forum, Gnanamani, secretary, Chellappan, treasurer. The Forum proposes to hold regular meetings to discuss the important issues raised in DV.
