Happy to inform that after my Ph.D.., the degree of D.Litt. has been awarded to me by Mysore University on my research work, The Heritage of Dalit rebels in Kannada literature – A complete study’. I have submitted another research thesis called “Dr. Ambedkar: A complete study” for the degree of D.Sc. and I have taken 18 long years to complete this work. I have made a detailed study of your writings on Babasaheb. especially two chapters in your book on conversion.
We are very particular about the practicality of conversion and hence I had to dig out some of the hidden truths especially with regard to the numerical strength and material progress of the Dalits after their conversion. Likewise, the latest amendment to the Constitution of India with regard to Buddhists has been appropriately dealt with in the light of Babasaheb’s philosophy, where we have evidently understood that the Dalits are not Hindus but a separate element in the Indian population.
Dr. Jayarajan is one of India’s most distinguished Dalit intellectuals and we are very proud that he is fast following the footsteps of Babasaheb, the entire family of DV readers and our staff join in congratulating Dr. Java rajah, we want more such intellectuals. However, one regret. Dr. Javaraiah must not confine himself to Kannada and thereby deny the world the benefit of his wisdom and experience. This is possible only if he writes also in English. For one who has mastered one language, mastering another is nothing. Dr. java rajah has a glorious future. Recently, we had an occasion to recommend his name for the post of a Pro-Vice chancellor in d Kerala University on the request of the Kerala Education Minister – EDITOR.
