SHYAMALENDU DIGAL, ORISSA Dalit Voice is being published from Bangalore since last 30 years. It is considered as a watch dog to safeguard Dalits, Adivasis, OBCs and minorities. Many of our families are subscribers for this fortnightly journal.
As a member of this family I am in constant touch with the Editor whom I consider as a custodian of the depressed society. He alone dares to speak about the Maoist movement to Adivasi rights before the world.
Countries like Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Pakistan etc. listened to him with attention. He now wants to set up a “media centre” in Delhi. But from almost every corner there is a feeling that “Closing down DV” may be suicidal. DV is the only journal that stands as our light-house. (sdigal@immt.res.in)
