3 reasons why DV members discontinue subscription
Closing down DV” decision was sudden and unexpected. I can understand your frustrations/ predicament/helplessness. I joined DV just five years ago. But I am saddened that this revolutionary/ intellectual/philosophical journal is closing so soon. It is a personal loss to me. Many readers like me are intellectually as well as emotionally attached to DV. All of them will now weep with me. Dalit Voice is the only fearless Ambedkarite journal in India. At this juncture DV has no other alternative. What a tragedy that India’s bravest journal is going into grave and the Bahujan Samaj will become slave.
As a great admirer I would like to share my feelings. I tried my level best to bring new readers. To some extent I succeeded. About 90 new members joined the DV family. To many, I paid the subscription as my gift. I am fully satisfied with the number. But sorry to note that only few are continuing the DV membership. The reasons they have given to discontinue are shameful. Some said they could not understand English. Some said they don’t get the time to read. Many thought why they should waste the money? What a pity.
But as a DV family member my appeal is not to close down DV. If it is not possible to run as fortnightly, make it monthly or even half yearly. But never, ever close down. The subject of “Closing down DV” brings tears in my eyes. Dalit Voice is a masterpiece in Indian journalism. DV is the only brave tiger in Ambedkarite philosophical forest. DV readers will become orphan without it.
