Bangalore: The Kamataka govt, has issued orders, dt. Sept. 26, 1990, Implementing the Govt. of India decision to extend reservation to Scheduled Caste converts to Buddhism. The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) orders (Amendment) Act, 1990 received the assent of the President on June 3, 1990 and was published in the Gazette of India on April 4, 1990. The Director of Census, Karnataka, in his order of Oct. 5, 1990 has also issued orders to treat all neo-buddhists as SCs and STs.
