Raichur : Research has thrown light on the pre- eminence of Karnataka in regard with the spread of Buddhism during and after the reign of Emperor Ashoka, Dr. K.V. Ramesh, Joint Director. – General of the Archaeological Survey of India, said here. The unearthing of voluminous epigraphic and other historical material in the State on a scale unparalleled anywhere in the country, was a noteworthy development. (Deccan Herald July 14).
