Bangalore: Bahujan Samaj Party, country’s most powerful Dalit party, has supported the DV campaign for reservation in proportion to the population of each jati.
New Delhi: The Bahujan Samaj Party on June 28 demanded that the UP Govt. provide for separate reservation to the Backward and the Most Backward Classes in the state on the basis of their population, failing which it would launch an agitation. BSP vice-president Mayawati said at a press conference here that in UP 52% of the population belonged to the Backward Classes, of whom 37% were most Backward.
The Government should provide reservation according to population”, Mayawati said.
