New Delhi: A facility belonging to the scheduled caste and personally known to the chief justice, Justice Ranganath Misra, had cornered four IAS posts by virtue of the reserved category. Misra, who was heading a five-judge constitution bench of the supreme court currently hearing petitions relating to the implementation of the Mandal commission recommendations, on Jan.22 pointed out during the hearing that he knew at least one retired IAS officer’s family whose three sons and a daughter were selected in the IAS and another daughter had appeared in the central services examination. He said one family had cornered four IAS posts because they were SCs. (Times of India, Jan.23)
