Arrested Under Conversion Law  

A noted Christian author and social worker, Vishal Mangalwadi, serving the rural poor, was arrested on Nov. 4, 1982 under the MP Freedom of Religion Act which allowed for seven years’ jail. He was first arrested in May, 1982 when he took up the cause of the victims of a hailstorm in 30 villages. He was fighting for landless Dalits.
