Amritsar: Akali Dal (L) chief H. S. Longowal said here that he would start a joint front of Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and other minorities to the fight rising atrocities against minorities in India. He thanked Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid. Delhi, for visiting Amritsar at his invitation and offering full support to the Sikhs’ struggle. The Shahi Imam said he wanted the unity of all minorities. (Statesman. Oct. 11 & 12) Meanwhile, Jagjivan Ram has offered full support to the Sikhs and said dalits would stand by the Sikhs. This was the first sign of unity of the dalits and minorities in India.
Virat Hindu Meet: The second conference of the RSS-sponsored Virat Hindu Samaja will be held at Patna from Nov. 7, its president Maharaja Karan Singh, said at Lucknow. Eradication of untouchability is the main goal of the Samaj, he said.
Xians embrace Hindusim: The RSS- sponsored Tamil Nadu Hindu Mission cl- aimed that on Oct. 10, at Salem 100 Christians including 15 women embraced Hi- Hinduism. A Brahmin priest did the puja. Hindu names were given to converts but the PTI report did not say which caste was assigned to those reconverted.
Dalits not Hindus: A. C. Das, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on SC/STs, has opposed TN Chief Minister MGR’s plea to call Untouchables as ‘Adi Hindus’. He said they were not Hindus at all. They were Dravidians who lived in India before the Aryans invaded it and brought Hindu- ism. (Deccan Herald. Sept. 7)
Xian Protest Textbook: Christians in Bombay have threatened to publicly burn the 8th standard textbook published by the Maharashtra Govt., as certain chapters contained derogatory and incorrect references to Christianity. (Times of India, Sept. 16)

Buddhism Vanishing in India: A high priest of the Mangolian Buddhist order thinks that Buddhism is vanishing in India. The head of the 100-yearold monastery. Khmabo Lama, told PTI at Ulan Bator on Sept, 18 that during his three visits to India in the two decades “I could not see much of Buddhism”.
Aryans foreigners, says Churchill The shudras and anti-shudras (Untouchables) are the original inhabitants of India. When M. K. Gandhi started “Quit India Movement”, the then British Prime Minister Churchill told him that Britishers had come to India only 150 years ago. We will leave the country. But you have come here few. thousand years back. The train which arrives first on the platform also leaves first, & train which arrives later also leaves it later, Similarly, you have came first in this country, so you should leave it first, then we will leave and hand over the affairs of the country to its original inhabitants” Since the shudras and Untouchables are the original inhabitants of this country, they must control power.
